| This day in 1932 was the second day
of an open house that attracted more than 1200 people to Copley
Hospital in Morrisville.
Alexander Copley wanted to construct a new hospital for his hometown,
but upon learning about the dire need for a school as well, he scaled
back plans for a new hospital building.
Instead, he purchased the property of A. P. Wheelock, which consisted
of a house, barn and land. Copley paid for the renovations, connecting
the house and barn, and provided medical equipment.
Savings from the revised hospital provided money for a new school,
too. The original hospital is now Copley House.
