| An Addison committee that had been
established to find the exact center of town came up with some disappointing
news on this day in 1828.
When the people of Addison decided to build a Town House, they
wanted it in the geographic center of the town. This would be the
most equitable way to make the Town House accessible for everyone
in town.
Lo and behold...the center of town wasn’t near anything...including
roads or houses. So much for that idea.
Addison voted on this day to build the Town House on the east branch
of the Dead Creek on Jackson Road, which is now known as Town House
Road.
