Caledonia County is in the money!
According to the treasurer's report, income is up!

The Times newspaper of Groton was reporting in detail about Caledonia County finances on this day in 1909.

Three days earlier, the county treasurer had made final calculations regarding the financial condition of the county, and the numbers looked pretty good.

The Caledonia County treasury showed a balance of $1,398.39, an increase of $530.15 over just one year ago. Growth was attributed to several factors in the report, including amounts received by the county for tax collections, Peddlers' licenses, tree licenses, telephone tolls, merchandise sold and jail rent for U.S. prisoners.
